Destination Hilliard
John Reed Hilliard platted the original area of the city of Hilliard in September 1853. The Village of Hilliard was officially incorporated in 1869 with a population of 280 and obtained city status in 1960. Today Hilliard’s population has grown to almost 28,000 residents. The growth in population is testimony to how desirable Hilliard is as a place to raise families, educate children, grow businesses and live the American dream. Hilliard is a blend of the old and the new as historic Old Hilliard invites you to enjoy a leisurely lunch in one of our excellent restaurants, shop our quaint stores, stroll the Rails to Trails walking path or visit historic Weaver Park and the Franklin County Fairgrounds. Destination Hilliard was established in 2009 to engage citizens and highlight Hilliard’s talent, heritage and spirit by inspiring collaboration, sharing resources and facilitating quality events that enhance the community. The core focus areas include communication, community engagement, event coordination, financial resource development, marketing and promotion, development of a signature event and venue management and development.
